    Prospective Families

Since 1910, boys have been discovering the magic of Camp Wigwam. As we like to say, any camp can offer the facilities, however Wigwam stands apart in our natural setting, experienced staff, and commitment to community and belonging. The environment fostered here is unlike any other, in which a boy can feel confident in his ability and personality. With the support of this amazing community, campers receive a warm welcome from the moment they pass through our gates.

    Why Wigwam?

It all begins with our perfect size and high return rate of campers and staff. The consistency of our community members fuels our culture and camaraderie. Our retention enables us to stay queued into the nuances of each person here. By the end of week one, it won't just be a counselor and bunkmates that know who you are, but rather 200 'Wammers who are darn glad you're here!

    Intentional Programming

We say it all the time around here: camp must be fun. That is not just a motto, it is the engine behind everything we do.

Wigwam runs on a time-tested program that has been refined over decades, and there is a reason campers come back for it summer after summer. It is not a fluke. The framework is there, for the day, the week, and the full summer, but inside that framework, campers are in the driver's seat. Their interests, their energy, and their readiness shape what happens here.

Our counselors and staff meet every boy where he is, in skill level, in confidence, and in how ready he is to try something new. From there, anything is possible. Boys surprise themselves constantly at Wigwam, making real achievements across a huge range of activities, some familiar, some brand new, all at a pace that feels right for them.

That is the magic of this place. Structure gives campers the freedom to thrive, and trusted adults make sure every boy feels seen, supported, and pushed just enough.

    The First-Year Experience

Nerves before Opening Day are normal for first year campers. Helping campers settle into Camp Wigwam is one of the most rewarding aspects of the summer. While each boy gains his stride in different ways, the program is time-tested and sensitive to the needs of our first year 'Wammers. A positive first impression, bunk week, frequent communication, and wraparound staff all contribute to the lasting joy of one's first summer on Bear Lake.

    The Wigwam Journey

Camp Wigwam is not just a great first summer. It is a place your son will want to come back to, year after year, as he grows from a wide-eyed newcomer into a veteran who knows every corner of these grounds. And as he grows, we grow with him. Home life is not static, boys change, families change, and we understand the realities of raising children in the twenty-first century. The flexibility and individualization we offer becomes especially meaningful over time, as you get to know us and we get to know your son, not just as a camper, but as a person.

Our veteran families will tell you: the longer you are part of Wigwam, the more that feels true. We are here for your family through the winters and the years, not just the summers.
