Meet the Staff
The Team Behind the Magic
It takes a crew of about 70 people to make a Wigwam summer happen. Counselors, medical staff, kitchen, maintenance, and admin, everyone plays a role in keeping things running smoothly and the good times rolling. But what truly sets Wigwam apart is that most of that crew comes back year after year, many for more summers than they can count. Just ask Peter Farber about the 50-year club.
That kind of loyalty is not an accident. When staff return summer after summer, they bring something no orientation packet can teach: they know this place, they know these campers, and they know each other. The result is a team that operates less like a staff and more like a family, one that happens to be very good at their jobs.
When you send your son to Wigwam, he is not just known by one counselor. He is known by the whole crew.
Neal Goldberg
DIRECTOR
As the saying goes, "All roads lead to Camp Wigwam." From first-year camper to year-round director, Neal has been enmeshed in camp for over 20 years. He now carries on the traditions of our beloved camp.
Cameron McAllister
CO-DIRECTOR
Notching his 14th year at camp, Cam completes the trio. Between school years in a 3rd grade classroom, he brings a camp spirit like no other. His passion for youth and recreation is unmatched.
Bob Strauss
DIRECTOR EMERITUS
Since his parents, Ned and Helen, purchased the storied camp, Bob has embodied the essence of Wigwam. Together with his wife Jane, he was camp's full time director for nearly 50 years.
Karen and Geoff Daniels
MAINTENANCE DIRECTORS
Renaissance woman and master craftsman, Karen and Geoff bring the camp magic to life. Even more than their stewardship of the campus, their spirit and love for Camp Wigwam is noticed in every nook, cranny, and facet of camp.
Heidi Hayes
OFFICE MANAGER
The friendliest voice you'll ever hear, Heidi works the Wigwam switchboard. Through the office, Heidi is attuned to the daily operations for parent, camper, and staff.
Colin Hanrahan
HEAD COUNSELOR
Colin comes to Wigwam by way of Camp Susquehannock, arriving with full sport mode activated. He brings real classroom experience, a passion for developing young people, and a dangerously rusty hook shot on the Pooch. We are thrilled to have him leading the charge this summer, and something tells us Wigwam is going to get into his blood fast.
