A Full Camp Experience in a Single Week

Little Loons is Camp Wigwam's day camp program for younger campers and first-time families. It runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and is fully coed. The program is designed to give campers a true Wigwam experience without the overnight component.

Campers spend their days on-site at Wigwam, participating in a wide range of activities across the waterfront, fields, and creative spaces, all within a structured, age-appropriate schedule. It's structured enough to feel purposeful, loose enough to feel like camp.

    What the Days Look Like

    • Swimming and waterfront time
    • Boating, tubing, and waterskiing
    • Tennis and field sports
    • Group games and outdoor play
    • Nature and outdoor exploration
    • Arts and creative projects
    • Occasional field trips

The emphasis is on variety, engagement, and building comfort in a camp setting. Transitions are smooth, expectations are clear, and there is a strong adult counselor presence throughout the day.

Special days: a mid-week field trip to Pineland Farms, picture day, and a Friday closing celebration with parents, including rocket launches and a challah baking party.

    Leadership

Little Loons is led by Noah Bernstein and Michael Johnson, two of Wigwam's most experienced and well-known personalities and beloved community members. Both have deep histories at camp and bring a mix of energy, care, and consistency that resonates with younger campers and their families.

They are supported by a handpicked team of counselors who work closely with campers throughout the week.

    Who It's For

    • • Younger siblings of current campers
    • • First-time campers getting a feel for Wigwam
    • • Local families looking for a high-quality day camp
    • • Alumni families introducing the next generation
    • • Visiting families exploring overnight camp options

The program has grown significantly in recent years, from a small group of about a dozen campers to a full, energetic cohort each summer.
